ROMANCE BOWS TO WISDOM IN 'IRON AND SILK'.(Preview)

Matt Salzman arrives in the People's Republic of China with stars in his innnocent eyes, eager to teach English to the Chinese. His romanticized view is influenced by a boyhood spent watching kung fu movies as much as anything else.

Two years later, after triumphs and disappointments, with some grasp of culture and considerably wiser, he goes back to the United States.

What is in between is the topic of "Iron and Silk," a movie that puts its audience firmly in the shoes of its young protagonist and shows what he saw, what he heard and what he thought when he was teaching in China.
