NSW: Build rail link to Granville at least: Dems
NSW Democrats MP ARTHUR CHESTERFIELD-EVANS has urged Transport Minister MICHAEL COSTAto consider extending the Chatswood rail link to Granville.
Yesterday Mr COSTA indefinitely shelved the much-promised Chatswood to Parramatta line, saying it would cease at Epping because the $1.2 billion cost of continuing to Parramattawas unjustifiable.
But Dr CHESTERFIELD-EVANS says the rail link could be extended to Granville - two stopsshort of Parramatta - for less money and with most of the benefits of the original plan.
